Making your workflow your own

Claude Cowork was a shock to my workflow back in February. But it also sent me back looking for new ways to customize my setup and bring some enjoyment back to using my computer. Here are some apps and tools I’ve enjoyed using recently.

Raycast

I’d heard about Raycast for years but finally jumped on the bandwagon just as they released their new beta a couple of weeks ago. It’s a really powerful Spotlight replacement that has quickly gone on to replace my hotkey/hyperkey library and my window manager. They have a huge set of official and community-built apps to integrate directly with things like Notion, Jira, Slack, and 1Password. I’m really interested in exploring their custom scripts and quicklinks.

Cursor’s agent window

No longer just a fork of VS Code, Cursor has redesigned their app with a whole new experience, based around interacting with the AI agent of your preference. The thing that continued to set them apart for me was actually the attention they are paying to the web browser within Cursor. No longer just a simple browser for viewing your local builds, they are adding next generation features like design mode along with support for bookmarks, tab management, and things you would expect from your “normal” browser. Now with the ability to point your agent directly at the same browser tab you have open within the app, there are days I don’t have to even open anything else.

Vanilla

No claims that Vanilla has increased my productivity significantly or is a major breakthrough in technology, but utility apps like this make your computer feel better. Thanks.
